Fine Art Prints

All of our photos are available as Fine Art Prints which are printed on high quality photo paper and are suitable for framing. All (except for panoramas) are available either unframed, framed, or matted and framed. There are 7 paper types available, each with different qualities and costs.

Print Paper Finish Types



Glossy	Color: Excellent. Dark blacks -- excellent. Quality of black and white prints -- always perfect. Reflectivity: high (can be objectionable if lighting produces glare off the prints). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 75+ years. Graininess from ink drops: generally not visible. These prints are generally shipped rolled up in a tube. Thickness is 9 mils. Maximum print size is up to 40.75" x 96". Print cost is economical.

Metallic Glossy	Kodak Photo Paper Metallic, 255 grams. Kodak description: The next-generation KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper, Metallic Finish allows users to produce stunning metallic prints previously only available in a traditional darkroom. The metallic, high gloss finish duplicates the characteristics of similar pearlescent darkroom papers users have preferred for years. It has a larger color gamut and higher Dmax to ensure that color captured in-camera reproduces more accurately, while producing deeper, richer blacks, an expanded dynamic range and additional detail in shadow areas. Pearlescent finish. Perfect for:Portrait art & photos, Commercial Displays, and Competition Prints. This metallic paper provides exceptional color density. Its surface has a slighly metallic look. These prints are generally shipped rolled up in a tube. Thickness is 10.5 mils. Maximum print size is up to 34.75" x 96". Print cost is moderate.

Satin	Color: Very Good. Blacks: Dark blacks -- very good. Quality of black and white prints -- Perfect. All b/w grayshades are created from black and gray inks. Reflectivity: medium-high (can be objectionable if lighting produces glare off the prints). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 150 years. Graininess from ink drops: not visible. Thickness is 10 mils. Maximum print size is up to 40.75" x 96". Print cost is economical.

Standard Matte	Color: Excellent. Blacks: Very Good. To the eye, almost but not totally as black as other media. To the scanner, about the same as other media. Quality of black and white prints -- Perfect. Reflectivity: low (Usually no problem from glare in any lighting). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 100 years. Graininess from ink drops: None. Thickness is 7 mils. Maximum print size is up to 40.75" x 96". Print cost is economical.

Enhanced Matte	This is the paper that is used when you order a framed print. The gray or cream mat color is printed directly on the paper which has a slight texture, simulating a linen material. Color: Excellent. Blacks: Excellent. Quality of black and white prints -- Perfect. Reflectivity: low (Usually no problem from glare in any lighting). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 100+ years. Graininess from ink drops: None. This paper provides exceptional color and saturation. It has pricing only 20% over that of standard matte, but is quite a bit thicker, and higher quality. It has excellent, deep blacks. An excellent all-around media choice. Thickness is 12 mils. Maximum print size is up to 40.75" x 96". Print cost is moderate.

Premium Matte	Color: Excellent. Blacks: Excellent -- at least as black as the very dark blacks obtained with glossy or satin papers. Quality of black and white prints -- Perfect. All b/w grayshades are created from black and gray inks. Reflectivity: very low (little if any glare from direct lighting). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 150 years. Graininess from ink drops: not visible. As a rule, the advantage of a matte surface is that it avoids glare from room lighting, at the expense of vividness of colors and deep blacks. This matte paper achieves both objectives. Prints on this paper look excellent, and room lighting should never be an issue. Paper used: Legion Entrada Rag Bright 290. Thickness is 21 mils. Maximum print size is up to 34.75" x 72". Print cost is more expensive.

Canvas	Color: Excellent. Blacks: Dark blacks -- very good. Quality of black and white prints -- Perfect. All b/w grayshades are created from black and gray inks. Reflectivity: very low (very little glare from lighting). Estimated time for 1st detectable fading, indoors: 150 years. Graininess from ink drops: not visible. Material: Poly-cotton blend. Can be sprayed, but spraying is not necessary. The primary advantages of spraying are to protect the print from damage due to abrasion, and to minimize or eliminate cracking at the edges of a stretcher frame. Thickness is 21 mils. Maximum print size is up to 40.75" x 72". Print cost is more expensive.
